I have loved crafting my entire life. I started sewing in the third grade. I took a sewing class from Singer in the fifth grade (in the “old days” Singer actually had stores). They held a contest at the end of summer and I won first place for my city! I won a tape recorder. I know a lot of you don’t even know what that is, but I loved it. My dress was sent to Atlanta for the regional contest and I came in fourth! Over the years, I have sewn just about everything, sports jackets for my dad, I even made him ruffled tuxedo shirts!.
My dad taught me to crochet when I was 19. I can’t count the number of afghans I’ve made over the years. I love making them, unfortunately I live in South Florida so I don't have much use for them.
Fast forward a lot of years, I have a lot of time on my hands and I have explored a LOT of other crafts. With social media, the ideas are endless! I no longer have a father or husband to take care of small projects around the house (my current husband is great at a lot of things, but changing light fixtures isn’t one of them). Thanks to Youtube, I have learned how to change light fixtures, electrical outlets, repainted my kitchen sink and overhead oven fan.
I have always admired people that made jewelry, I thought that it required a special skill that I just didn't have. I visited some friends that I hadn't seen for a very long time and she was into making jewelry and she showed me all the beautiful bracelets she made. Now, she was not known to be super-crafty, so this was quite a surprise that she was able to make this beautiful jewelry so easily. Maybe I was wrong. So I bought some beads and started stringing.
Now, there is a difference between stringing beads on a string and beading. Both techniques have their place and both are beautiful, but I quickly turned to beading to create pieces that are truly unique.
My frustration was finding information on what to do. Of course the information is out there, but I had to go to a lot of different places to find what I needed. Another problem was that I didn't know what it was that I needed!
So many techniques, if you don't know what they are, how do you search for them?
I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO SEARCH FOR
I want to make this easier for you. If you are new at beading, I will soon be releasing an e-book that covers all the basic techniques that you need to get started with this wonderful form of jewelry making. I am including free patterns to help you get started.
For now, you can check out my Bead Vault for free instruction and patterns. I am running a special to receive complete access to the Bead Vault, which will include the instructional e-book when it is released! The current price of the Bead Vault is LESS THAN what I will be charging for the ebook alone. Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity!
