I was in desperate need of a 2022 printable calendar. I don't consider myself a "cheap" person by any stretch of the imagination, but, to me, a calendar is something that shouldn't cost more than $5. I mean, you're going to write all over it and it's only going to last for a year. And no matter how beautiful the pictures are or how adorable the puppies, you're not really going to frame those pictures when you're finished with it are you?

And to buy a calendar is way more than my allotted $5. That's what I think a calendar should cost. Plus, I could never find something that was quite to my liking. So, in 2019, I sat at my computer and created a printable calendar. I love watercolor flowers, so that was the theme. I carried that theme forward in 2020, but last year I decided to make my calendar available to my readers, so I made it with beads in keeping with the web site. My husband doesn't care what it looks like as long as it has the phases of the moon on it.

This year, I broke down and bought a calendar. I had pneumonia for the month of January, so I just wasn't feeling up to making my calendar. I decided it was time to "splurge" which meant getting one from the dollar store so, at least, it wasn't too expensive.
But, I had this nagging voice in the back of my head, feeling guilty that I hadn't kept up with my calendar. While we now have a calendar in the house, I don't have one in my office. I certainly wasn't going to splurge twice on buying a calendar!! But the sticky notes reminding me of conference calls are stacking up and falling off the wall. (Side note: My Bachelor's Degree was in Computer Science and I programmed computers for 20 years, back in the day when that really meant something, not like now, and even though I'm completely at ease working with computers, I still like to write everything down! Sigh!)
This week, I have taken a breather and am focusing on some things that need to get done regarding the WEB site, and what falls into my lap but a template for a calendar and planner! Well, if that wasn't a sign! Although, everyone needs a calendar, I have a love/hate relationship with planners. It's kind of like embarking on a new exercise plan. You have good intentions, you buy the book, equipment, work out clothes, etc., You make time in your schedule to do it, you actually make it to a session or two, but then, the follow through just feels impossible!
I know I need to plan certain things in my life and especially my business. Those ads for planners are definitely enticing, and they actually got me to fork over $30 last year for the "Ultimate Planner" that promised to transform my life. Interesting that I don't want to spend money on an essential item like a calendar, but I CAN get sucked into buying a planner. Hmmmmm. That I never used on top of it!
But now, I have my solution, my very own template that I can decorate with my precious watercolor flowers, and then, I don't have to feel so guilty if I don't use it because it only cost me some time and paper.

Now, I know that some of you can't live without your planners, and I applaud your organization. Noone would ever use the word "organized" to describe me! I will sit down with my new planner with good intentions of planning out the next year, but even if I don't use the planner, I now have a calendar hanging in my office!
